Key Stage 4
Students have a one-hour lesson each week. During the course of a year students will have the opportunity to participate in number of different sporting activities. During years 10 and 11, physical education lessons focus on learning within a competitive environment. The pupils also experience the different roles of the performer, captain, coach and official within these activities.
The activities are Football, Basketball, Netball, Dodgeball, Fitness, Table Tennis, Badminton, Dance, Zumba, Rounders and Athletics.
Pupils follow the Edexcel Course.
In year 10/11 groups are single gender for practical lessons and mixed gender for theory.
In most circumstances each activity will be repeated in both year 10 and 11. The following practical activities will be covered in Years 10 and 11 depending on the experience and expertise of the group.
