School Information

As you may be aware, the government is changing the guidance from next Monday on the use of face coverings in schools. From Monday it is no longer recommended that students are to wear face coverings in lessons and communal areas. It is also no longer recommended that face coverings should be worn by staff in classrooms but should be worn in areas where social distancing is not possible, such as communal areas.
“Based on the current state of the pandemic and the positive progress being made, the additional precautionary measures put in place from the 8 March for public health reasons are no longer recommended. From 17 May, new advice applies to the use of face coverings by staff, pupils and students in schools and further education in England. This advice is in line with Step 3 of the roadmap.

Further information can be found in the guidance for schools. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/actions-for-schools-during-the-coronavirus-outbreak”

The government has also said that it may be necessary to return to wearing face coverings, if the need arises based on local need.

I will still allow students and staff to wear face coverings if they want to.

Please remember that for the rest of this week, face coverings still need to be worn.

Thank you for your continued support.
