Dance, Drama and Music combined for an evening showcase which was performed to an audience in the evening. Pupils from Years 11-13 performed excellent Dance, Music and Drama performances based on Musical Theatre including performances from Matilda, Grease, High School Musical, Les Miserables, Heathers, The Greatest Showman, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Oliver and Waitress.
The pupils performed solo, duet and group pieces as part of their Performing Arts BTEC Musical Theatre Unit assessment and did not disappoint- they performed professional repertoire from a variety of musicals, scripts and genres which have resulted in very pleasing grades. Pupils impressed staff and audience members with their talent and energy in all three disciplines.
Year 11 Dance completed their mock assessment of their own choreography based on the stimuli ‘Better Together’ which was released by the examination board. This was the first time these pupils have choreographed using an abstract stimulus and they worked incredibly well as a team.
A big thank you to all the pupils involved for your contribution to the ‘Night At The Musicals’ showcase, the pupil helpers, the PTA, all staff involved and of course the audience members who came to support.
We look forward to our next Performing Arts event and hope to see you there!
