Our Year 8 & 9 students have had a really informative day today with Mr Tait from DRED UK.
As you are no doubt aware, more and more these days, young people are coming into contact with drugs, whether that is on the local streets or on social media platforms. Unfortunately, drug use is becoming normalised for a great deal of young people who are drawn to the excitement and ‘glamour’ but know very little about actual effects or risks. Today we have been very lucky enough to get an expert on drug issues and awareness from DRED UK to deliver assembles to the year groups.
We hope that these assemblies have given our students accurate and impactful advice and information regarding drugs and substance misuse, and will help them make safe choices.
We would also like to thank Mr Tait for being so engaging not only for the students but also for the staff.
