Energy, Fun, and a Fundraising Spirit at the Hylands Sports Day
Hylands School was alive with energy and excitement as students came together for an action-packed Sports Day filled with competition, colour, and community spirit.
Pupils enthusiastically took part in a wide range of sporting activities, forming teams within their form groups to compete across nine different sports. From netball and handball to cricket and athletics, there was something for everyone. A standout addition this year was Boccia, which brought a fresh and inclusive twist to the day.
Throughout the event, pupils embodied the Hylands Habits — Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be Resilient — whether they were cheering on their teammates, taking on new challenges, or supporting each other through healthy competition.
The highlight of the afternoon was a 0.75-mile colour course, which students could walk or run as many times as they wished in 20 minutes. Along the route, five vibrant stations were set up where staff cheerfully showered pupils with colourful powder. As the air filled with bright hues, music kept spirits high—complete with impromptu dance breaks for the Macarena!
Sports Day also served as an opportunity to support meaningful causes. Many pupils raised money for charities close to their hearts, while others backed the school’s official charity, Fatima’s UK Campaign. It was a fantastic demonstration of responsibility, compassion, and unity across the Hylands community.
