Certificate of Excellence for Eco Champions at Hylands

We are thrilled to celebrate the achievements of five outstanding students—Nathan, Kathlyn, Alfie, Elizabeth, and Alfie—whose dedication to sustainability has earned them a Certificate of Excellence from the Modeshift Environmental Programme.

This long-running initiative promotes active and sustainable travel, and these students have been involved for several years, working tirelessly to encourage greener choices within the school community. Their passion and persistence have not only inspired others but also brought meaningful change to daily life at Hylands.

In recognition of their efforts, the team was awarded £250 in funding, which they have chosen to use to modernise the school’s bike sheds. This exciting improvement will make it easier and more appealing for students to travel to school by bike—furthering the programme’s mission of sustainability and healthy living.

Receiving the prestigious Certificate of Excellence is a testament to their leadership, vision, and hard work. Their contributions support our school’s broader commitment to positive environmental action and help us build a culture of responsibility and resilience.
